Novokubansky district is an administrative district in Krasnodarskiy kray, Russian Federation. Its administrative center is the town of Novokubansk. Novokubansky district lies 1500 km south of Moscow, in Southern Russia, in Northern Caucasus. The Kuban river is flowing through Novokubansky district.

 

Its area is 1,823 km². The population is estimated at 87,600. More than 40% of people live in Novokubansk. There are also others 51 settlements in Novokubansky district. Majority of population is ethnic Russians.

 

Novokubansky district is vulnerable to extended drought conditions. Average annual precipitation in Novokubansky district is 551mm. Novokubansky district has very fertile soils, as a result of that agriculture and food industry are very advanced in region. Farmlands cover 1,370 km² or 75% of district.

 

Major federal roads and railway pass through Novokubansky district. This is playing substantial role in economy of the district and life of local community.
